SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Submission will be in two phases.


Phase 1: Registration (PROJECT/ PEOPLE Category)
[Deadline: 25 April 2025, 12 noon]

Electronic registration and/or nomination due on 25 April 2025 (Friday), 12 noon. Please note that the registration under Phase 1 shall include:

  • Registration Form (Project): One form per project. Click on REGISTRATION FORM to register.
  • Registration Fees (for Project category only). Please ensure that the requisite amount is received by the Singapore Institute of Planners or the registration shall be deemed incomplete. See Mode of Payment on payment details.
  • Nomination Form (People): One form per nomination. Click on NOMINATION FORM to submit.

Phase 2: Submission of Application Materials (PROJECT Category)
[Deadline: 27 June 2025, 12 noon]

Application materials must be UPLOADED by 27 June 2025 (Friday), 12 noon.

Submissions made after these timelines will not be accepted. Judges' decisions are final and no appeal will be entertained.

For the 12 PROJECT categories:

  1. State the category of award the team is competing in.
  2. Name of project leader and all team members. For all SIP Members Categories, one of the project members must be a SIP member (please state membership class).
  3. Allow the use of application material for SIP's publication and electronic mailer related to the planning awards/seminar.
  4. A minimum of two A1 size presentation in digital format are compulsory. A maximum of four (4) A1 are allowed. The resolution of each image of the presentation board shall not exceed 120 dpi. All fonts used for the submission shall be not smaller than size 12. Content should be legible within each panel and not spread across panels.
  5. A video presentation of no longer than 3 minutes is to be submitted for projects under the category of Joint Award by SIP & PDD of HKIS for Excellence in Integrated Urban Development to show the status of the completed project and its utilisation.
  6. Text input pertaining to the judging criteria of 1) Originality and Innovation, 2) Planning/ Urban Design Approach and Methodology, 3) Core Values Demonstration, 4) Implementability is required for the online portal. The entry for each criterion will be capped at 500 words.
  7. Participants may submit additional details using slides (in pdf format) if they feel the A1 boards cannot adequately convey their information. The slides must be uploaded to the online portal, limited to 30 slides, and in PDF format only.
  8. Please ensure that your names, company's logo, name and address do NOT appear on the slides or digital copy of the presentation boards.

Recognition of Project Team Members (PROJECT Categories)

Entries under the PROJECT categories must be led and officially submitted by the planning team, office, or individual planner.

As planning involves a team effort, the SIP Planning Awards 2025 shall show appreciation by extending the award plaques/ certificates to the entire team members consisting of the project leader, master planner, urban designer, infrastructure engineers, transport engineer, landscape designer, sustainable specialists etc. where applicable.


For the PEOPLE Category on Young Planner of the Year
  1. The submission is by nomination.
  2. The nominator shall complete the online nomination form. The form shall specify name of the planner and shall contain the information to demonstrate the individual's commitment to:
    • deliver achievements in planning profession.
    • pursue further development in planning as a profession.
    • exhibit leadership quality that is role model to other young planners.
    • active participation in SIP events and programme.
    The write-up shall include a description on how the nominator perceive the individual will be able to contribute to the course of SIP.
  3. The nominee may be called for interview or presentation.
